From its daily log:
- The gas company confirmed the line is cut and capped at the main. Electric meter gone, water off at the curb. A photo of each cap is on the job. Weather: Clear.
- Fence panels and silt fence up along the street. Walked both neighbors' foundation walls, the sidewalk and the curb with the owners and photographed the cracks that were already there. Weather: Partly cloudy.
- Structure down to the subfloor on the north half. Wood and mixed debris sorted into separate roll-offs; metal set aside for scrap. Hose on the dust all day. Weather: Sunny, light wind. Delays: Found a buried heating-oil tank by the back wall; CO-2 sent to the owners.
A demolition proposal in the demo: In-ground pool removal, break and fill
Tumblewhit Demolition sent it to a lead. The scope reads:
Drain the pool, break out the floor and the top of the walls, fill in lifts with clean fill and compact, then rough grade with topsoil. Break out the deck and haul it to the recycler.
The notes on that lead:
- Asked for a price to remove the pool and the deck around it
- Measured the pool and the deck; side-yard access for the skid steer
- Sent the proposal: break and fill, with full removal as an option
Other demolition leads in the demo
- Teardown for a rebuild: The builder has another lot on the same street and wants a teardown price before closing; Walked it: one-story ranch, about 1,400 sf, crawl space, detached carport
- Kitchen and bath gut: Remodeling the kitchen and both baths; wants the gut done before his contractor starts
- Two detached garage removals: Two rental houses with failing detached garages; asked for a price on both

Questions about SelfConstruct for demolition work
Is there a demolition version of SelfConstruct?
Not as a separate product. Tumblewhit Demolition opens with the business type “Demolition”, so its menus are set for that trade. In a customer's company today, the menus are the same whatever the trade.
Can a demolition job be fixed price or time and materials?
Both are in the demo: Tumblewhit Demolition's “Varga house teardown, 1,800 sf” is a fixed-price job, and “Nwosu driveway concrete removal” is billed time and materials.
Does SelfConstruct have “Your own equipment fleet” for demolition companies yet?
Not yet. It is on the list the demo's welcome card shows under “Not available yet for your trade”.
