Deck and fence software for a high job count and a thin office

Twenty jobs a month, each a week long, most sold off a measurement and a photo. The system has to be faster than the job, or it costs you more than it saves.

See pricing — it's public · Why SelfConstruct

A takeoff on sheet A1.0, the main level floor plan of the demo company's Alpine Ridge Custom Home, zoomed to one measurement: the covered deck, 24 feet by 10 feet, outlined on the plan and measured as 240 square feet of composite decking, priced at $7,812; beside it the measuring tools (linear, wall, area, volume, roof, count), the saved presets, among them a composite deck area, and the sheet's other measurements

A bid out the same day you measure

Linear feet of fence, square feet of deck, gates and posts and footings priced from a catalog you built once. The proposal goes out as a private link and gets signed that evening — no printing, no second visit.

Volume needs a dashboard, not a filing cabinet

Every job on one board with its status, its money and its next step. When you are running twenty at once, the failure is never one job going wrong — it is losing track of which one needs you today.

Deposits, finals and who has not paid

Take a deposit, invoice the balance on completion, and see AR aging tell you exactly who is late without anybody building a spreadsheet. It all posts into a real ledger, so the year closes out of the same system that ran the jobs.

Crew hours against the job, from the field

Time tracking on any phone, tied to the job and cost code, so you learn what a 120-foot cedar fence actually costs you in labor — and price the next one from that instead of from memory.

Questions builders ask

Is this too heavy for small jobs?

There is a simple-menu mode that shows just the core screens, and the price does not change with job count — one flat price per company, unlimited users. If your average job is a week, the value is in speed and in never losing a receivable.

Can I reuse pricing between jobs?

Yes — a cost catalog with your own codes and assemblies means the next fence starts from the last one rather than from a blank page.

Do you handle repair-call dispatch?

No. This runs projects, not service tickets — there is no dispatch board and no recurring billing. Repairs sold as small jobs work fine; a business built on same-day service calls does not.
