Terms of Service

1. The service

SelfConstruct provides construction-management software as a hosted service. Each customer operates a private, single-tenant instance provisioned for their company — its own database and its own file storage.

2. Your data is yours

You own everything you put in — customers, jobs, financial records, documents, and photos. On termination you receive a complete export.

3. Acceptable use

You will not use the service to violate law, to send spam, or to attempt access to any other company's instance.

4. Land leads

Land Prospecting data is research compiled from public county government records, provided for your company's own direct marketing of construction services. You will not resell or redistribute lead data, and will not use it in connection with real-estate brokerage or settlement services (real-estate sales, mortgage, title, or escrow referrals). SelfConstruct sells research access only — we are not a real-estate broker, we do not introduce parties to transactions, and we receive no compensation contingent on any transaction. You are responsible for complying with applicable direct-mail and solicitation laws in your outreach.

5. AI features

AI-generated content (receipt reads, bid drafts, takeoffs, research) is assistance, not professional advice. You review and approve before relying on it. AI usage is subject to a monthly fair-use budget.

6. Financial records

SelfConstruct includes bookkeeping tools. It is not an accounting firm; you remain responsible for your books, taxes, and filings.

7. Availability & backups

We target high availability and maintain automated backups, but you should retain copies of critical documents.

8. Fees

Subscription fees are billed monthly in advance. Founder pricing is locked for the life of the subscription.

9. Data processing & security

We process your data solely to provide the service — never to sell, rent, or train third-party models. The complete, current list of subprocessors — every provider and what it receives — is on our subprocessors page, which this document defers to. Backups are sealed with public-key encryption; the decryption key is never stored on servers. Transport is HTTPS everywhere; passwords are salted and hashed; two-factor authentication is available on office logins.

10. Breach notice

If we confirm unauthorized access to your data, we will notify you promptly — target within 72 hours — with what happened, what was involved, and what we did. Statutory notice obligations, where they apply, are governed by applicable law.

11. Retention & deletion

Your instance's data persists while your subscription is active. On termination we deliver a complete export (database and files) and delete the instance and its volume. Offsite backups age out of retention automatically thereafter.

12. Termination

Either party may terminate with 30 days' notice. We hand over your data; you stop using the service.

13. Liability

The service is provided "as is"; our total liability is capped at the fees you paid in the prior 12 months.

14. Changes

We may update these terms with 30 days' notice; continued use constitutes acceptance.
