A window and door proposal in the demo: Eight windows and a sliding patio door
Paneglade Windows & Doors sent it to a lead. The scope reads:
Remove the eight back-of-house windows and the old patio slider, install eight double-hung vinyl windows with low-E glass and a 2-panel sliding patio door, insert installation with new exterior aluminum capping, interior trim reset, lead-safe work practices at every opening, and haul-away of the old units.
The notes on that lead:
- Stopped at our booth. House built in 1971; drafty windows at the back of the house first.
- Both owners present. Measured eight windows and the patio door for the quote; marked W1 to W8 and D1.
- Sent the proposal with the opening schedule and a triple-pane option.

- Two fogged windows: Two bedroom windows are fogged between the panes; asked for a glass-only repair visit.

Questions about SelfConstruct for window and door work
Is there a window and door version of SelfConstruct?
Not as a separate product. Paneglade Windows & Doors opens with the business type “Windows & doors (replacement)”, so its menus are set for that trade. In a customer's company today, the menus are the same whatever the trade.
Can a window and door job be fixed price or time and materials?
Both are in the demo: Paneglade Windows & Doors's “Haverford 14-opening retrofit” is a fixed-price job, and “Achterberg glass and screen repair” is billed time and materials.
Does SelfConstruct have “Measure sheets” for window and door companies yet?
Not yet. It is on the list the demo's welcome card shows under “Not available yet for your trade”.
