An insulation proposal in the demo: Attic top-up with R-49 blown fiberglass, and air sealing
Quiltmere Insulation sent it to a lead. The scope reads:
Seal the top plates and the wiring and plumbing holes, set rafter baffles, insulate and weatherstrip the hatch, run both bath fans to the outside, then blow R-49 fiberglass over the existing insulation with depth markers and an attic card at the hatch.
The notes on that lead:
- Asked about adding insulation to the attic before winter
- Assessment: thin, uneven insulation in the attic; both bath fans vent into the attic
- Sent the proposal and the product fact sheet
Other insulation leads in the demo
- Closed-cell spray foam, fellowship hall: The fellowship hall is a metal building with bare walls and roof; Walked the hall with the building committee and measured walls and roof
- Crawl space encapsulation: Home inspector noted a damp crawl space and a torn vapor barrier
- Garage ceiling insulation: The bonus room over the garage is cold; asked about the garage ceiling
