Walk through one well and water job: Kirchner well rehabilitation and disinfection
Its schedule, in order:
- Camera inspection and jetting
- Shock chlorination and overnight contact
- Flush the well and the house lines
Change orders on this job: “Replace the cracked well cap with a sanitary cap”; “Replace the rusted tank tee while the system is drained”.
To-dos on this job: “Re-sample after flush”.
From its daily log:
- Camera showed iron bacteria slime on the casing and a partly plugged screen. Pulled the pump, jetted and brushed the casing, and pumped to waste until the water ran clearer. CO-1 approved for a sanitary cap. Weather: Cold morning, sunny afternoon.
- Mixed and circulated the chlorine through the well and the house lines; overnight contact. Disinfection notice to the homeowner: do not drink the tap water until the retest result is back. CO-2 sent for the rusted tank tee. Weather: Clear. Delays: Refilling the system waits on CO-2.
A well and water proposal in the demo: Softener, iron filter and drinking water system
Cisternmoor Water sent it to a lead. The scope reads:
Install an air-injection iron and manganese filter ahead of a softener, with a bypass valve and a drain line with an air gap; add a reverse osmosis drinking water system at the kitchen sink; start up, set the controls and test the water at the kitchen tap after the install.
The notes on that lead:
- Orange stains in the tubs and white scale on the fixtures
- In-home water test: 22 gpg hardness and 3 ppm iron; a family of four
- Sent good, better and best options with the test results
Other well and water leads in the demo
- Salt delivery sign-up: Wants softener salt delivered to the cabin; asks how often and which days we come; Left a message; call back with the delivery days for his road
- Well pump systems for four new homes: Walked the four lots: the wells are drilled; pumps, tanks and yard lines needed before drywall
- Cabin well test before buying

Questions about SelfConstruct for well and water work
Is there a well and water version of SelfConstruct?
Not as a separate product. Cisternmoor Water opens with the business type “Water treatment & well pumps”, so its menus are set for that trade. In a customer's company today, the menus are the same whatever the trade.
Can a well and water job be fixed price or time and materials?
Both are in the demo: Cisternmoor Water's “Ashcombe no-water call, submersible pump replacement” is a fixed-price job, and “Pellegrino pressure tank and switch replacement” is billed time and materials.
Does SelfConstruct have “A pricebook with margin floors, service agreements and truck stock” for well and water companies yet?
Not yet. It is on the list the demo's welcome card shows under “Not available yet for your trade”.
